I Bike Tuscany

This excursion is an easier version of the original Florence to Siena ride and more suitable for intermediate cyclists. If you do not bike regularly and are looking for a more relaxed and easy going Wine Country experience with Siena at the finish line, this is definitely your tour.

You'll spin through the hills of the Chianti countryside (at your own pace, and yes, van supported!) along some of the most idyllic cypress and olive tree-lined roads in Tuscany.

Visit the quaint medieval towns of Castellina in Chianti and Fonterutoli. Wine tasting here! Siena is ahead, waiting for you to stroll its ancient streets, visit its remarkable Duomo and perhaps enjoy a gelato in the famous Piazza del Campo. After a perfect day of biking, wine tasting, and sightseeing you'll relax in the van for the return trip to Florence (or surrounding area) where we'll drop you directly at your hotel or close by.

OVERVIEW

ITINERARY

From your hotel in Florence (or nearby) you'll be transferred by van to the medieval town of Castellina in Chianti, our tour starting point. Visit the town while we prep your bikes to begin your adventure. From Castellina a long, lovely downhill will take you to the hamlet of Fonterutoli where a tasting at the best and oldest winery in the Chianti region is waiting for you. The estate of Fonterutoli has been owned by the same noble family since 1435 and has been passed down through 24 generations. Arrive in Siena in time for lunch and enjoy the afternoon for sightseeing. At day's end, the van will take you back to Florence, directly to your hotel or close by.
